OK, so here is the deal with my Costa Rica trip.  I chose FIMRC http://www.fimrc.org because it allows me to volunteer in Central America and support the effort when I get back to the States — all in the limited time that motherhood affords.

While there, I’ll be working with children in Alejuelita in some capacity.  Alejuelita is an area outside San Jose (map in previous post below) where 12,500 Nicaraguan refugees — mostly women and kids – have settled.  FIMRC works to provide them with basic medical care.

In the run-up to going, I have started gathering donations of kids clothes to bring with me.  So if you know me and are going to see me before January, I would love to add your gently used or new kids clothes to the pile.  Thanks!

In the meanwhile, I am trying to brush up my high school Spanish.  More like dig words from the recesses of my mind.  I am using Rosetta Stone which is great but I am lazy (and obessesed with Alias on Netflix).  I resolve this week to limit my viewing and get going on the Espanol.
